I don't know if muskrats fall into the same biological group as rats, mice, squirrels, beavers, etc......but a lot of those animals are compelled to chew almost constantly. Their teeth never stop growing, (sort of like fingernails), and they have to gnaw on everything in sight to keep their teeth from becoming so long that no food could get between them. |

Technically speaking, it isn't. One can chew without swallowing. You can
