JimH,
The last thing my wife would think I was being is considerate, if I told her to squat on a porta pottie or if I had to carry the porta potty home to clean it out. The marinas all are on septic tanks, and do not allow dumping porta potties in the toilets. She would want me to, and I would eagerly go to, a marina with a clean toilet. If I did not have a head aboard the boat, I would remind everyone before we left the marina is to "hit the head". Just becuase someone does not like the idea of having a porta potty onboard a boat, doesn't mean that person is inconsiderate. " JimH" jimh_osudad@yahooDOT comREMOVETHIS wrote in message ... Another considerate person thinking of the needs of his wife..............Come on honey, if you have to go so bad just squat over the gunwhale and let it go. ;-) There are too many ways for a porta potty to make a mess in a boat, none of them pretty. Name them. I *never* had any problems when we had porta potties in our smaller boats. |

Yup, guys taking a leak over the side. I rarely survive an afternoon's sail without a trip to the head, and I don't even drink beer. If my husband were as understanding as a few of you guys he'd be sailing alone (actually he wouldn't be sailing at all because he would never have bought the boat because I would have said - no we aren't buyin that POS! are you f'in crazy! I ain't goin on that thing! there's nowhere to pee but over the side!) OTOH - I am the one who maintains/empties it. |

Thanks for pounding some sense into these numskulls who somehow think it is difficult to use and keep clean. ;-) I like the responses saying that they would ask their wife to wait till they get back to the dock. Heck, when my wife needs to pee, she needs to pee. Same with me. We aren't waiting for a 20-30 minute ride back to the marina. |

One of the guys I fish with I think has an overactive digestive tract, and it seems that getting out on a boat makes that condition flare up. I swear, I ask him every single time if he needs to take a dump before we shove off. No. About five minutes motoring and next thing I'll hear, if we are in my boat, is "pull over there"..... |

Your lucky to have so many places to stop. Here, you'd better have a head on board, or it's a long way between restrooms. |
