You Bastards!

I just want to tell everyone who published their damn pictures "overthere",
that you forced me to buy my wife a Nikon D50. I purchased the package with
2 telephoto lens. We spent Sunday taking a walk along the river taking
pictures of our dogs, mother nature and the kids playing in the river.

You *******s cost me over $1000, forced me to get out and walk over a mile,
and now my wife is busy looking for new accessories she needs for her new
camera.

If any of you SOB's make recommendations for things we absolutely need for
our new hobby, you will be promoted to GD SOB's.

Get her a really nice tripod. Actually, two. One full size, and a tiny one.
The latter comes in handy sometimes, like for photographing small plants,
ants, etc.

Doug,

Thanks for the reminder, I actually own a fairly nice tripod I purchased for
your video camera that we never use.
http://www.beachcamera.com/shop/prod...px?sku=VGVT126

I checked out the "mini" tripod, and it definitely looks like something we
"need". http://www.beachcamera.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=CNMT

Don't forget good quality polarizing filters for each lens, so she can
remove the glare from water and photograph the fish that you can never seem
to catch. Tiffen filters are a good choice, and quite expensive:

Reginald P. Smithers April 25th 06 04:01 PM

You Bastards!

Doug,
I actually purchased a complete set of filters.

http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=3453687

and two UV filters for each lens, to protect the lens and threads. My wife
had a Minolta she purchased in college and the threads got screwed up
because she did not have the UV filter.

Sorry, but you are not a ******* on this one.

The other must have items I purchased is a lens cleaning kit, plastic
protectors for the LED windows, an attachment so the lens cap is attached to
the strap.

Apparently "talkaboutboats.com" is a web based forum that simply copies the
posts made to rec.boats.

We use our cameras to take pictures of our boats. We even take pictures of

I am glad she doesn't read this NG. I purchased a 2 GB card, and have
showed her how to delete the card as soon as she downloads it into the
computer. I make a back up on a disk, and save a copy online. So she gets
one 2GB and that is it.

I purchased Photoshop because everyone told me that is the software I
needed. I saw where I could try out PaintShop for free and then for $90
upgrade the software. I found I prefer Paintshop for most pictures.

I am sure as she starts to play around with the artsy fartsy kind of pics,
she will want to use Photoshop, but damn for 1/5 the money, Corel Paintshop
is one hell of a program.

Sorry, Richard, but you are not a *******. Now if she reads this, you just
might be.

As far at the 18-200mm Zoom Lens with Nikon's Extra Low Dispersion (ED)
glass, Silent Wave Motor technology (SWM), and Enhanced Vibration... All I
have to say is:

YOU GD *******.

She will have to get by with Nikon 55-200mm f4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom

Yes, and the words "stuff it" are really quite shocking.

Notice also that they are not plastered in the subject heading of each
response.

Grow up.

JimH,
Did JohnH allow you to wear his sheriff badge?

I am sure he didn't authorize you to ride his horse.

Whatever, I hope he didn't give you a bullet.

The flash will be a Christmas present, I was wondering if I needed the
SB-600 or SB-800, it seems this guy recommends the 600 for most people.

Lens (Black) and the Nikon 55-200mm zoom and a tripod.

JohnH, I really think someone is going to have to try hard to out *******
you.

Don't even think about the 600. Do the 800 and be done with it.

Personally, I find 'stuff it' and some of the other expressions you've used
in the past couple days much more offensive than the word '*******'. After
all, Alan Lewrie was one, and *he* had no problems with the word!

I just want to tell everyone who published their damn pictures
"overthere", that you forced me to buy my wife a Nikon D50. I purchased
the package with 2 telephoto lens. We spent Sunday taking a walk along
the river taking pictures of our dogs, mother nature and the kids playing
in the river.

You *******s cost me over $1000, forced me to get out and walk over a
mile, and now my wife is busy looking for new accessories she needs for
her new camera.

If any of you SOB's make recommendations for things we absolutely need
for our new hobby, you will be promoted to GD SOB's.

Don't forget good quality polarizing filters for each lens, so she can
remove the glare from water and photograph the fish that you can never
seem to catch. Tiffen filters are a good choice, and quite expensive:

She will also need about $500 bucks worth of memory cards for starters.
Women don't like to delete anything.

Actually, I'd go get her an external 160GB hard drive on which to store
pictures. Not doing so would be an indication of cheapness and miserliness.

Not to mention a top quality printer for her favourites...and you may as
well throw in a good photography courses she can take full advantage of
all her new toys.

Do you notice the deafening explosion of silence coming from Reggie's neck

"Other expressions in the past couple of days"? I doubt it John. Today
and today only have I let loose. Just had to give back to a couple of
people what they have been throwing at me for the last month or so. Tit for
tat, or so it went today.

As the Jewish salesman on 34th St. in NYC (the ******* who sold me this
package) would say.

please insert heavy yiddish accent here "Does she not deserve it or not".

This guys price was a little bit higher than Beach Camera.com was, but
watching this guy work was well worth the price.
