I am glad she doesn't read this NG. I purchased a 2 GB card, and have
showed her how to delete the card as soon as she downloads it into the
computer. I make a back up on a disk, and save a copy online. So she
gets one 2GB and that is it.

I purchased Photoshop because everyone told me that is the software I
needed. I saw where I could try out PaintShop for free and then for $90
upgrade the software. I found I prefer Paintshop for most pictures.

I am sure as she starts to play around with the artsy fartsy kind of pics,
she will want to use Photoshop, but damn for 1/5 the money, Corel
Paintshop is one hell of a program.

Sorry, Richard, but you are not a *******. Now if she reads this, you
just might be.

"
She will also need about $500 bucks worth of memory cards for starters.
Women don't like to delete anything.

Damn! And I tried so hard....

Doug,

Thanks for the reminder, I actually own a fairly nice tripod I purchased
for your video camera that we never use.

I checked out the "mini" tripod, and it definitely looks like something
we "need". http://www.beachcamera.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=CNMT

You *******.

Most of the time, I find a monopod sufficient for camera steadying
purposes.

Harry,
On a serious note, I would guess the advantage of a monopod is weight and
ease of carring the stand. My tripod is very light and expands to ______
damn, I just answered my own question.
The monopod expands to 63" vs 48" for the tripod, so it would be easier to
aim and focus. Now it looks like I really do need a monopod.

I am going to check out this lightweight monopod, does anyone have any
experience using
the Bogen Monopod 676B 4-Section Light-Weight?
