Default finishing teak swimout

HI, I JUST OILED THE TEAK SWIMOUTS OUR NEW BOAT. THEY WERE SO DRIED OUT. I
OILED THEM AGAIN, THEN AGAIN. THEY LOOKED GREAT. BUT NOW THERE TURNING
WHITE BLOTCHY. WHAT DID I DO WRONG? CAN THEY BE FIXED?

Did you clean and sand the teak back to bright wood before applying the
oil? A proper oiling requires nearly as much prep work as varnish, but
you are absolutely correct to avoid varnishing a swim platform. If you
didn't spend time in prep, what you did "wrong" was to apply teak oil
to a layer of dirt instead of the teak itself.
