I was planning on..............

.......working on the boat yesterday but I got suckered into shoveling 10
cubic yards of mulch for our new fire pit area in the back yard, some of
which is 5 inches deep over what was once mud/dirt.

Having no large tree stumps/log sections to cut into stump seats I built
three 6 foot long basic wood benches after work today for around the pit.
They turned out quite nice, especially considering the plan was drawn in my
head and on the fly. They are also bullet proof.

I have now put in my time. Last Thursday was spent washing windows, fixing
exterior landscape lights and getting the patio furniture out. My work on
the yard is done.

Another 10 cubic yards of mulch is arriving tomorrow for the landscaping
beds. I am spending the day visiting customers so my son and 3 of his
friends will be putting down the mulch with the supervision of my wife.

I hope to be able to spend next weekend getting the epoxy barrier coat done
on the boat as well as getting the carpeting tore out.

Thank goodness for Advil, and.................when does the fun start? ;-)

10 cubic yards?

Jumping jeepers...

And another 10 cubic yards coming tomorrow.

The wheelbarrow hold 6 cubic feet. With 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard a 10
cubic yard load turns out to be 45 wheelbarrows. Ouch!

I want a skid steer. ;-)

Rented one this last weekend! I've got woods in back of my house, and
every couple of years the understory needs cleaning out, and that is
the best thing for it! Besides, I love driving it!

Not to worry, Jim. I called your mulch supplier and modified your order.
You'll be getting 10 cubic yards of manure dropped on your driveway.
Emjoy! :}

Too late. The mulch was delivered 1/2 hour ago. ;-)

Must have been awkward trying to read those plans you drew on your fly.

Brings back memories.
I had a fun job working for the city parks comm. between finishing
community college and entering the work force.
One job was to shovel the horse **** from a container next to the
stables into a dump truck. We then took it to a secluded place and
dumped it to rot.

When I was a reporter for the KC Star, I got assigned to write feature

cattle, sheep, goats, horses, et cetera, were displayed, and a rodeo was

b.s., c.s., g.s., h.s., and various other kinds of .s. that was shoveled
up off the floor. So I investigated and wrote a really funny feature
about the stuff.

That's why it is so easy for me to discern b.s. when Bush shovels it! :}

With him, you'd need one of those extra large 'grain shovels' just to
keep up.
Is that Rummy guy on his way out?

Maybe we can have Richard buy us all one. I would even accept a nice used
one. How about it Richard? :-)

I'm thinking so. The republicans appear to be jumping ship like rats,
FINALLY realizing what a goof our POTUS is.
