![]() we are in Savannah this weekend for Easter celebration and visits with friends. two weeks ago, we were at Cumberland Island, walking past wild horses (just 2-3 feet away!) and enjoying quiet nights in the bay on the west side of the island. We also spent 5 days at Jekyll Island with great biking and beautiful mansions/cottages from the days when the Rockefellers, etc., would spend the winter on the island. After coming down the Mississippi to Cairo, IL, we turned upstream on the Ohio, then Cumberland River to Kentucky Lake. Next it was down the Tennessee-Tombigbee waterway and out to the Gulf in Mobile, AL Since then we've been in the intracoastal waterway except for the crossing from Carabelle to Steinhatchee FL, and some time spent in the Keys. It's an extraordinary trip which I would recommend to anyone who loves being on water. |
