Default Organizing a 16' Aluminum fishing boat--suggestions?

Thinking up some solutions for organizing a 16' 4-bench aluminum
fishing boat--stuff like where to strategically store vests, tackle,
etc. Obviously, plastic bins come to mind for stuff like spare parts,
emergency equipment, etc. For commonly used items (pliers,
knives, tackle, etc), I can't use those suction cup caddies (rough
inside surface)--maybe some plastic c-clamps and cargo netting...

I'm not experienced enough to be drilling holes in my boat (yet), so if
any experienced angler has a tip or two on creative storage/fishing,
I'm all ears.

Thanks!

I'm a great believer in vertical rod holders, both on my 24' boat and on my
14' aluminum fishing boat. either the commercial types or the PVC (on the
little boat). I attach them so I can run with the rods up and out of the
way, they are great place to set the net out of the way, etc. I am also a
believer in using dry-bags (e.g., from Cabela's) to hold gear such as
first-aid box, rainsuit, camera, binocs, etc. Keeps them safe and dry and I
can place them anywhere in the boat I want. The best place for your vests
is to wear'em!.

Plano and a few other companies make waterproof storage boxes, with lids
sealed with an O-ring. You might consider one of these for high-value items
like cameras, handheld radios, etc., and stuff that cannot be allowed to get
wet, like your first aid kit. I found one at Gander Mountain that had a lift
out tray for small items, and a carrying handle on the top. Nice. And, the
box itself has enough indentations. It's the orange one on this page:

Uh oh - unfinished sentence: "...enough indentations that you can place
lures on top and they won't slide off."
