I immediately realized my mistake and cut motor off. Motor is brand new, E-tec 90. Is there likely to be any impeller issues? Depends to a great deal on whether your judgement of the elapsed time is completely accurate. It is accurate. I turned the key, the sound of the motor out of the water immediately caught my attention and I turned the key off. I believe I still had my hand on the key. I had just been idling away from a fishing spot and my fishfinder shallow warning went off. No sooner did it beep and I could feel the prop hitting something. I had tilted motor up to inspect and forgot to put it back down. Bent up my prop pretty good, must have been a rock or a stump. Only the 3rd time out with new motor. Bummer. I took the prop off and straigtened it as best I could, guess I should go buy a new one and keep this one as a spare for an emergency. |
