Gunman kills 7 including himself at Seattle party
Sat Mar 25, 2006 9:29 PM ET

The gunman, whose identity was being withheld, then forced his way into
the house and gunned down more victims. He sprayed bullets everywhere
while barely saying a word, Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikowski said.

Oh boy. The plaid shirts in rec.guns are gonna have a field day with this
paragraph. Shotgun, "sprayed bullets".

"Tell ya what, Clevis. Them reporters don't know the first dern thing about
guns".

I didn't notice what kind of gun he used to "spray," but the article
mentioned he had an "assault rifle" in his vehicle, with 30-round clips.
I'm sure it was just a semi-auto rifle, not a full-auto, real-deal
assault rifle.

If you need a 30-round magazine, you're a bad shot.

I heard the police chief's news conference, and the chief did use the
word spray.
The killer went into the house with two weapons, a pistol grip shotgun
and an assault rifle. Like the police chief commented, "A pistol grip
shotgun is not a weapon used for hunting, unless you're hunting human
beings."

If there were some drugs motivating this behavior, it's unlikely that
the drug was caffeine.

The shooter probably planned this massacre well in advance. After
spending time at the party, we went out to his truck where he "just
happened to have" (?!) a pistol grip shotgun, a high powered assault
rifle, dozens of shells in bandoliers for the shotgun, and hundreds of
rounds in assault rifle clips.

The kids were having a Zombie party, where people were all made up with
fake blood, phony wounds, etc. The theme of the party was gruesome
death. This idiot took everything pretty seriously. You have to wonder
if the first two shot (on the front porch)
saw him walking up with his bandoliers and weapons and just assumed it
was part of his party get up?

Two of the girls who escaped locked themselves in a upstairs bathroom.
When the killer found the door locked, he just fired a big hole in it
with his shotgun and went on down the hallway. He missed the girls
inside. If that had happened to me, it would have been a good thing
that I was in the bathroom, that's for sure.

A tragedy for sure. Too bad the sick wacko killed himself before we
could study his illness and see if the results could be used to
intervene with somebody else headed down the same path......but he did
save us multi-millions of dollars and many months of headline news as
the trial and (years from now) the execution occured.

A semi-automatic pistor is a military style assualt weapon. A 12 gauge
shotgun is a miltiary style assualt weapon. A bayonet is a military style
assualt weapon. A stick is a military style assualt weapo, as is a rock.

If you need a 30-round magazine, you're a bad shot.

Or, you hate reloading after every kill.

A "pistol grip" is a choice by the shooter which enables the ability to
bring your arm down tighter to the body to better control the weapon.

What is the definition of an "assualt rifle?"

Yeah...I realized I must've missed that. I saw that he had a rifle in the
car, but not that he also used one in the house. My bad.

Washington has the death penalty? I wouldn't have guessed that.

That's because all we hear about is two cities - Seattle and Redmond. Some
think that everyone in NY is a gun-shy liberal. But, we have plenty of red,
too.
