Also, in order to work as they are supposed to , they'd have pop out in either direction! Because if the wind is blowing in one direction, the leeward panels would then have a negative pressure on them. But, alas, codes aren't worthless. If there were no code provisions, people would be building structures that wouldn't withstand someone blowing on them! One of my colleagues went to Clemson U, and was on their hurricane team. Pretty interesting stuff. I was referring to the codes for screened pool enclosures. Building codes are necessary, although some of the new codes, particularly electrical, are getting ridiculous.
