We bought a 24' pontoon boat and I'm planning to install a couple of
anchor winches and am wondering if anyone has an an opinion as to which type of anchor is best? We plan to anchor on lakes over night and don't want to drift if the wind comes up. Any input would be appreciated. |

I'd probably put on a Horizon Claw, a Bruce knockoff. They set and re-set easily and hold pretty well in anything except small rocks or weeds. They also are easy to stow on a roller and look pretty decent. Danforth/Fortress/Guardian holds well in sand and mud, but are sometimes a bit trickier to set. Capt. Jeff |
