From the website:
==================================
Lockheed Martin's Advanced Semi-Planing Seaframe is based on technologies
introduced by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri on the 1,000t Destrier
commercial vessel, which holds the transatlantic speed record, and the
3,000t Jupiter Class. The ship has a steel hull with aluminum superstructure
and will be powered by two Rolls-Royce MT30 36MW gas turbines and two
Fairbanks Morse Colt-Pielstick 16PA6B STC diesel engines driving four large,
acoustically optimized Rolls-Royce waterjets. Four Isotta Fraschini Model
V1708 ship service diesel generator sets provide auxiliary power.

Sprint speed in Sea State 3 = 50 knots

Range at sprint speed with full payload = 1,500nm

Draft at full load displacement = 10ft
====================================

Impressive!

This boat could see some serious nearshore interceptive action against
Iranian suicide boats in the Straits of Hormuz when American jets start
dropping precision guided munitions against suspected nuke sites.

Thousands of Iranian citizens is better than tens of thousands of American
citizens.

The objective of *ANY* military unit on any attack mission *IS* to get the
maximum kill while minimizing losses, including collateral losses/damage.

War is not a touchy feely thing Don. Is it brutal and unforgiving.
