I need to upgrade my crappy sunglasses now that we are back into boating. The last nice pair I had ended up in Lake Erie 2 years ago while on a cruise on our friends Lyman. Who makes a decent pair of polarized sunglasses with glass lenses? I think my last pair was a Sunglass Hut proprietary brand......no longer available. My eyes are pretty sensitive to sunlight. Any suggestions? Glass? You don't mean glass. You mean high quality plastic. Why not glass? Ditto. I've tried sunglasses made with different types of plastic lenses. Seems like all had some level of distortion or aberration. Nothing compares to glass IMO. RCE I agree. Ever had a properly made pair of plastic prescription shades that cost more than $100? Uh...I had lasix six years ago. No need for Rx. That's beside the point. I've had plastic prescription shades for 20 years. No distortion. Perfect. And, you can get them made FLAT. No prescription. They'll be thicker than ready-made shades. No distortion. Any perceived difference in weight is imaginary, based on the need to complain about something. You are still a self important ass. |

Why do you suppose plastic is pretty much a requirement for people playing sports? Heavy lobbying by the plastics industry? Or, could it be based on experience with the way glass shatters? |
