No contract. Boat owner loses.

Lesson: Get everything in writing.

Judge ruled: $466.67 owed by boat owner. Original slip owner to refund
difference.
49 days of slip use ($2000/210 days x 49 days).

I can't believe I'm so bored that I'm watching People's Court (when did
Judge Wopner stop doing the show?).

What I have learned is to get everything in writing. Sadly handshakes and
verbal agreements don't cut it anymore.

Business's have to be even more careful, with hold harmless agreements and
being asked to be named additional insured inserted in the contracts in many
cases.

It is a litigious society we now live in and you have to protect your own
interests.

Verbal contracts are binding contracts. The problem is trying to agree
what the verbal contract was.

And trying to prove it one way or another.

Only a fool would rely on a verbal agreement in today's litigious society.
