If you are old enough to remember the JC Whitney catalogs of the late 60's
early 70's (yea, I know they still have catalogs, but it ain't the same) they sold adapters to put any engine in anything. As adolescents, we used to conger up all sorts of interesting combinations. "Clams Canino" wrote in message news:Icp_a.134343$o%2.58030@sccrnsc02... I have no familiarity with I/O's. That said...... there is usually an adapter for most everything humanity wants to mix and match. Good luck! -W "Rural Knight" wrote in message link.net... "Clams Canino" wrote in message et... Yanno..... I still can't believe that for the second time in just a little over a year, I gotta do an OMC to Merc conversion and then dial in props and ****... sigh Is this a outboard or inboard? If it's an inboard, I have a question regarding adaptor plates. Oh hell, I'll ask it anyway. On that Chris*Craft/Thompson Corsair that I found, there is a stringer outdrive. I have recently found a Alpha outdrive in what appears to be good condition for almost no money. (Long story and no, it's not hot - as in stolen). Is there an adapter for the Buick V6 that is in it to the Alpha drive or should I look around for a Mercruiser? Thanks in advance. Later, Tom |

Clams,
Noah's right, I too think it should be "Phantom Menace II". However, I don't agree with the PMS... :^) And regarding your comment: "I still can't believe that for the second time in just a little over a year, I gotta do an OMC to Merc conversion and then dial in props and ****... sigh" You live for this stuff! :^) :^) Besides, you'll know it's done right! -Jim noah wrote: I can't imagine you terrorizing wanna-be tubers in anything *but* the Phantom Menace. ![]() "Clams Canino" wrote in message news:wfh_a.131636$uu5.18864@sccrnsc04... We all know the "Phantom Menace" died a sad death a couple Thursdays ago when it was hit by a car. The replacement is on the way. What to name it? My big inline is coming over to the new hull. I'm thinking: RMS PM-2 , I mean if Cunard can get away with it.....? While I'm not familiar with your previous boat, "Phantom Menace II" is just too delicious a name to take a pass on. Kind of rolls off the tongue, eh what? Later, Tom |
