Bert,
I think everyone including Chuck, has recommended personal self-control.
Since this is an unmoderated NG it would be silly for anyone to recommend
anyone "exert control".

Yes...that's the voice of reason.
When any one poster preaches, issues directives or tries to exert
control over other posters, you can expect some will rebel.

Happy New Year, Bert

I thought we'd lost you. Glad to see you're still aboard.

Any insights on the differences between the way that liberals and
conservatives boat?
(That's "boat", with a "b") :-)

Nobody can control anybody else. The change you're viewing in the NG is
the result of self control among most of the previous worst offenders.
Surprising difference, isn't it?

I can't recall one *not one* post Bert ever contributed to this
newsgroup that had interesting or informative boating content.

I realize that "interesting or informative" is subjective, but by any
standards, Bert's few boating-related posts here take banal to a lower
level.

In case I forget, what with the partying and all, Happy New Year to you too,
Harry!!!!

Rebuilding this NG is a process, not an event. With 99% of the
political bickering and name calling swept aside we will eventually
attract a greater number of boaters to the NG and many of them will
have useful comments, challenging questions, and specific expertise
to share. Give it a chance.

Where can we find your apologies for the false claims you made about
Skipper and his wife, Chuck?
