Default Parts of the democratic world not going Bush's way

These leftists in South America will be not better than the dictators of the
past. The same thing will happen. The friends of these new dictators will be
enriched and the rest of the populace will be left to toil in ever
increasing poverty.

Bolivian Indians hope to see one of their own lead

Reuters Television
By Kevin Gray

LA PAZ, Bolivia (Reuters) - Evo Morales, a leftist Indian leader who says
he is "nightmare for the U.S.", held a wider-than-expected lead over his
conservative rival in Bolivia's presidential election on Sunday, exit
polls showed.

Morales, who has vowed to roll back a U.S-backed campaign to eradicate
coca leaf growing, had between 41 and 45 percent support, according to
polls by three television networks. Unitel, Television Boliviana and ATB.

Jorge "Tuto" Quiroga, a conservative former president, was in second place
with between 33 percent and 36 percent, according to the polls.
Pre-election polls showed Morales holding a narrow five percentage points.

If declared the winner, Morales would add Bolivia to a regionwide drift to
the left that has seen leftist presidents come to power in Argentina,
Brazil, Uruguay and Venezuela.

****

Another "victory" of Bush foreign policy.
