Those Islamic fundamentalist hate groups thrive on the despair and hopelessness that thrives in the Middle East. Providing Muslims a taste of democracy and the fruits of capitalism provides them hope...a hope that will displace the hatred that comes from despair. What you right wing lemmings fail to understand is that the Middle Eastern people are different from us. They live by different principles, plain and simple. They don't WANT to be like us. All of them? Probably more of them than you care to know. Admitting this would mean having to face the fact that our foreign policy is based on fluff. Just like Vietnam. |

Harry,
I do have to ask, what is your purpose of cut and pasting the news articles you place in rec.boats? What is your purpose for posting in rec.boats? "Harry Krause" wrote in message ... Remember that prior to presuming office, Bush was totally ignorant of and uninvolved in any sort of foreign policy. I'll bet my "Bush Quiz" would still work. I'll bet if you put Bush in front of an outline map (no details, no place names) of the Middle and Near East, he could not point out Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, or Syria. Hell, he probably couldn't name the 50 states off an outline map. Or recite the list of states from memory, as *every* kid in my sixth grade class could do. -- DeLay, Tom: Past tense of De Lie. |

Why......because

That's the President's highest rating since October 8. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Bush_Job_Approval.htm Watching the Bush numbers in the FOX news poll on this site, http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm proves interesting. Just over a month ago, only 38% of Fox News poll responders approved of Bush, and now the number is in the low 40's. What changed, however, was not the number of people who disapprove of Bush in the Fox News poll (remained at 53%) but the number of people who were "unsure". The "unsure" dropped from 11% a month ago to just 5% last week. Moral of the story: you can shake the confidence of a Fox News believer, but when bombarded with a stepped up propaganda campaign he or she is more likely to head back into the herd than to cross over to the "dark side." :-) Bush better get his number up, a lot, in the next 9 or 10 months or his "coattails" won't be worth squat next November. |

Harry,
Since my comments have always been mild compared to others, why the animosity? "Harry Krause" wrote in message ... Same goes for your questions, your comments, your "advice," your whatever. Save your keystrokes for someone who cares. Is that clear enough for you? Do you get it yet, scumbag? Moral of the story: you can shake the confidence of a Fox News believer, but when bombarded with a stepped up propaganda campaign he or she is more likely to head back into the herd than to cross over to the "dark side." :-) Better rework your theory, since it was based on inaccurate data. Bush better get his number up, a lot, in the next 9 or 10 months or his "coattails" won't be worth squat next November. Bush's approval rating is within 5 or 6 points of where it was when he won the '04 election by 3 million votes. Based upon how well the economy is doing, and the improving consumer confidence figures, I predict his approval rating will at least be where he was in 11/04. |
