What I really want to know is what all the immediate neighbors did to **** off the subject homeowner, inducing him to set up such a light show. No one would set up something like that because they like it............... would they? If I had the time, the talent, and the resources, you bet I would. That light show rocks! I love christmas lights. Bryan I have been forbidden to put up any holiday lights around our house- unless subject to immediate supervision. It has more to do with unbreakable professional habit than with any religious or philosophical issues. The last time I strung the lights, (at a previous residence) I ran a nice string from the corner of the house out to the top of a basketball backboard on the edge of the road. From there, the lights did a 90-degree turn and ran into a tall tree on the corner of the yard, went once around the tree and then formed a nice graceful belly on the return leg to the eaves. I thought it was uniquely beautiful. All my neighbors had highly disciplined light displays outlining the shapes of their houses, and mine were suspended in mid air. Cool. When the Mrs. came home, she was a bit P'd off. "All those colored lights strung in the air makes the place look like a damn used car lot!!" My response, "What's wrong with that?", probably drove the final nail into my unsupervised light stringing coffin. |
