Harry,
Seriously, you need to stop screwing around with mother nature. Your good natured attempts at helping the critters is screwing them up royally. The last things birds need is something that will keep them from flying south. If you heated bird bath delays one bird from leaving, you have just killed one bird. You feeding animals human food is ruining their natural fear of humans, providing them with food that will not provide them with the nutrition they need and causing them to rely on humans for their food instead of finding food naturally. This is particularly bad when mothers teach their new born to use humans as a source for their food. It appears that your NPD knows no species limitations. You will screw up mother nature as much as you screw up humans. As long as you get to see some critters eating your turkey carcass, you really don't care what it does to the animals. "Harry Krause" wrote in message ... I usually look out in the yard just after dawn to see what birds are visiting, but it was 17F earlier, and there was no one there. I did notice, though, that the foil tray I put out last night with the turkey carcass and some kitty chow was empty. You can just make it out in the background towards the far left. Today, I'll put out the heated birdbath. Winter sucks. http://tinyurl.com/72z64 -- If you voted for Bush, a yellow ribbon won't make up for it. |

Narcissists are generally contemptuous of others. This seems to spring, at base, from their general lack of empathy, and it comes out as (at best) a dismissive attitude towards other people's feelings, wishes, needs, concerns, standards, property, work, etc. It is also connected to their overall negative outlook on life. -- John H "It's not a *baby* kicking, beautiful bride, it's just a fetus!" Sounds like you have a perfect description of yourself, Herring. Harry, do you think you're *really* fantastic? Sometimes narcissistic fantasies are spectacularly grandiose -- imagining themselves as Jesus or a saint or hero or deity depicted in art -- but just as often the fantasies of narcissists are mediocre and vulgar, concocted from illustrations in popular magazines, sensational novels, comic books even. -- John H "It's not a *baby* kicking, beautiful bride, it's just a fetus!" Thanks for clearing that up. I thought it was ALL booze that caused your problems. Come to find out, you've got other issues, too. |
