Llyod,

A big old hat is much cheaper, looks better and is just as effective.
If skin cancer is the issue plenty of SPF 30 does a pretty good job.

Butch

Makes sense. A bimini on a 10 foot inflatable would be quite awkward.

Just because someone sells a bimini for inflatables does not mean it is a
wise choice.. ;-)

If I were going to use the inflatable for fishing, I'd get a bimini for it.
Usually they're pretty quick to put down when one decides to go fast.

Who would regularly use an inflatable to fish from John? An unintentional
fish hook when casting or retrieving into the tubes is devastating.

Hell, I don't know! I said 'if' darn it! What was he going to use the thing for,
waterskiing?

Lots are used for fishing and diving locally. And a spear will make a
bigger hole than a hook, and is easier to get through the tough skin.

Ummm.... just about everyone? Ever heard of "float-tubes"? "Belly-boats"?
"pontoons"? Here's two boats I usually fish from:

And I'm planning on fishing from Near Cove, too. Sure, you don't wanna get
a hook in the tube, but hell, you don't wanna get a hook in your eye,
either. Just be careful...

Hmmm... I think we're suffering for "different uses" syndrome here. I
wouldn't consider a bimini if I was roaring around at 30 knots. But I'm
using it with an electric, putting along at 4-5knots, enjoying the
scenery. And, yes, fishing.

And you can always put it down if you're in a wind and don't want to be
blown around. Thst's the advantage of a bimini over a permanent "roof".

I had one on the 12ft aluminum skiff and I enjoyed it.
