VIA Rail came up with a good idea.
Since most of the fighting men of WW2 came to Halifax by train from the rest of the country to be shipped to Europe, a special train ride to Ottawa from Halifax was organized so the old vets could take part in Remembrance Day services on Friday. http://www.cbc.ca/ns/story/ns-rday-train20051109.html http://www.herald.ns.ca/Front/463259.html |
