Default Can I Add 2" Hitch Ball to Trailer Dolly?

I am looking for a trailer dolly. But all the trailer dollies that I
see in Amazon.com come with 1-7/8" hitch ball instead of 2" hitch ball
that my trailer needs. Can I replace the 1-7/8" hitch ball that comes
with the trailer dolly with a 2" hitch ball?

Thanks in advance.

They are probably just attached with a nut. So remove the 1 7/8 ball, and
get a 2" ball with the same size threaded portion.

Thanks everyone who has responded.

Good to hear that I can replace the 1-7/8 hitch ball with a 2" ball.
And also I am glad to hear that I really don't have to do this. Sound
like I am all set to order a trailer dolly.

I would replace the ball. Although you may not 'need' to because you're just
driving slowly on flat roads for a quarter mile, there may come a time when you
decide to go further, or you hit the right bump. You don't want the hitch coming
loose!

I am talking about the hitch ball in a trailer dolly, not the hitch
ball in the towing vehicle. And I only intend to use the trailer dolly
to move the trailer for 5 feet sideway.
