Without having to take apart this engine- can someone please refresh my
memory, as to what cam or eccentric actuates the points rod on a Briggs 16 HP engine, vertical cylinder ? It's in a ' 72 Mont. Ward lawn tractor- it had intermittent then no spark- and the points are not opening/closing enough to run the engine. I've had a 9HP apart before, but that was a LONG time ago- whatever makes the points actuating rod move in/out appears to be worn to the point the rod barely moves back and forth also, do they make an electronic conversion to do away with points on this engine ? thanks |

WOW- thanks a lot- that's exactly the listing I need and was looking
for question- what's the difference between the "magetron kit" to convert 2-leg to electronic, part number 394970- and the "armature" 394891 will they both do the same thing, or what ? |

The armature is the entire coil assembly, the kit is a small module using the existing magneto coil. Ring 'm up and make sure they can outfit you on your older model. Rob |

Try this too: http://www.hardwareworld.com/Univ-Ig...e-p9W7CFV.aspx for another idea. Rob |

Briggs got back to me, said their Magnetron would work, if I sent them
my flywheel to be repolorized- I'd like to not have to do that- thanks for the link, am looking into one of your Google link parts that perhaps just bolts on using the existing setup |

Do a search on this subgenius sometime...he's a barrel of laughs! He should be in a mental institution, but so sad is the state of mental health care in the US, he's allowed to annoy others at will. |
