$2.26/gallon at the street pumps just last week.........today down to $2.11.
This after a high of $3.14 following Katrina.

A nice trend. ;-)

But you told me you were paying $1.56 just a month ago when I told you that
I was paying $3.25+ for mobile boat refueling?

Which of course is no bargain. A 5% discount for more than that in loss
of fuel economy? It's quite likely with most vehicles.

Do not know if ethanol degrades a Silverado. We just get the regular and
forgo the discount, free lottery ticket and cup of soda, that go with 10
gallons or more of ethanol.

Barring any major negative event in the Middle East in the immediate future,
gas prices will fall 15-20% by the end of the year.

The increases were from profit taking due to the damage to the US gulf coast
refineries from Katrina.

Not too hard to predict NOYB. ;-)

And yes, they will most likely continue to fall now that we are approaching
winter.

I think part of what's driving down gas prices at the pump is all the
public disgust at record oil company profits. That's likely to be a very
short term trend.

Right now, we're burning more oil than ever and discovering very few new
fields. Unless you believe world petroleum reserves are infinite, then
the long term trend is for gas to increase.
