I wonder if they knew they had a *SAIL* boat.

Perhaps it had something to do with the nature of the injury.

Yep. I just read a clarification of the story as told by a local resident:

++++++++++++++

"As usual the media has created a mountain out of mole hill. They were not
drifting, they were holding into some serious seas and trying to ride out a
bad situation. His sister-in-law got hurt and they were unable to lower the
sails. After 30 hours of heading into the Northerly wind, they ran out of
fuel. Captain is not handicapped,sister-in-law is, thus the concern for her
well being. His only request of the CG was to take her off the boat, they
were prepared to keep sailing. The CG decided to tow them in rather then
risk a pick up. Weather had become a big factor, with seas building and wind
gusting out of North. They were trying to go North."

+++++++++++++++

As usual, the media got it all wrong.

As did you (as usual), resulting in yet another inane, pointless, idiotic
post from you. What a nimrod.
