Someone around here must by trying to be more wasteful than George W & gang. http://thechronicleherald.ca/NovaScotia/458673.html It happens here in the States also. Test vehicles from the Big 3 are routinely crushed at metal recycling yards in Detroit and Toledo, with absolutely nothing taken out other than the gas tank and engine fluids. These cars look brand new and may include custom aluminum wheels and top end electronics including stereo and gps. I would not have believed it if I did not see it with my own eyes. A lot of it has to do with insurance and liability. I realize that. ;-) The worst ones I saw were the weathering tests........after x number of cycles, they would peel back the sheet metal all over the car to see what was happening.....I saw some incredibly expensive audi's BMW's etc opened up like sardine cans............ |
