As a youth, I was fishing for trout on some property my parents had just below the waterfalls on the upper East Verde Creek. Fishing had been great all morning. Around noon, I heard some rustling of the brush just behind me. I turned and observed a Gould's Turkey slowing walking toward me. When the bird was about ten feet away it stopped at looked up at me.
