Default OT cheney's piggish outburst

I love it! Hannity always whines about certain liberals "shrill
voices". Now watch, as he spins this one. I can hear it now. Isn't
someone allowed to be passionate about the subject being discussed?
Hmm, why yes, they are, but that would make them "shrill".

Oh, I doubt seriously that Cheney was shrill at all. I'm quite confidant he
just matter-of-factly told Leahy to go eff himself -- not a bad idea, by the
way, and something that needed to be done some years ago, imo.

So, you think that cursing a senior senator, in public, is
Vice-Presidential?

In your humble opinion, Cheney's loss of self-control and his potty
mouth is not unbecoming to his high office or his dignity? Do you think
it shows that he has high integrity and his moral fiber?

Well, not to quibble, but it wasn't exactly in public. It was during a
non-public photo shoot, with the Senate not in session, and my understanding
is that the exchange only became known through leakage. In public, for the
record, such an exchange would, of course, not be considered
"Vice-Presidential."

My opinions are rarely humble, Richard Cheney never (I suspect) suffers loss
of self-control, and as to "potty-mouth", well -- anyone here who's never
dropped an f-bomb in private raise your hand.

I head that Chenney, when asked about an apology, replied something like, it
was time that someone said that to him (Sen. Leahy).

If only you Democrats would put Teddy Kennedy in the corner and find out
what really happend 35 years ago when he turned his car into a u-boat and
abandoned ship before ensuring that his crew was safely out.

Clearly you misunderstand. That event was associated with an initiative to
foster entrepreneurial activity. The Kennedy Car-Wash.

Oh, OK, so it was NOT public and therefore OK... only in a public
building, with lots of public officials, and photographers... maybe a
few aides, maybe a few friends & family, probably one or two
reporters... but of course the Vice-President's papers are all
ultra-secret (especially those having to do with industry & lobbyists
influence on public policy) so it makes sense to keep his spoken words
under wraps too. It's just a darn shame this got "leaked."

The country would be better off if it were easier for the gov't to keep
anything secret, wouldn't it?

Oh no, of course not. He is the perfect Boy Scout.

Neither of us knows exactly who was present, so it is all speculation. I do
understand, though, that this was a closed photo session for the annual
Senate photo -- Senators, a few aides, I guess, the photographer, of course.
Definitely not open to the public, and I have not seen or read any
indication that family was involved.

Irrelevant to the question at hand.

Being very much in control does not make him a "Boy Scout." Why would you
think that? The two are not necessarily linked. The point, if I must
explain it, is that I don't think Dick Cheney ever says anything through
loss of self control. If he told Leahy to eff himself, you can be pretty
confident that that is exactly what he wanted to say.

Oh, yes. So, now you think it's correct political protocol to make
outbursts like that? I wonder how you'd feel if it were a democrat
that did the same thing to a republican. I know, you'd scream like a
little school girl about how that was just purely improper.
