Neither of us knows exactly who was present, so it is all speculation. I do understand, though, that this was a closed photo session for the annual Senate photo -- Senators, a few aides, I guess, the photographer, of course. Definitely not open to the public, and I have not seen or read any indication that family was involved. but of course the Vice-President's papers are all ultra-secret (especially those having to do with industry & lobbyists influence on public policy) so it makes sense to keep his spoken words under wraps too. It's just a darn shame this got "leaked." The country would be better off if it were easier for the gov't to keep anything secret, wouldn't it? Irrelevant to the question at hand. My opinions are rarely humble, Richard Cheney never (I suspect) suffers loss of self-control Oh no, of course not. He is the perfect Boy Scout. Being very much in control does not make him a "Boy Scout." Why would you think that? The two are not necessarily linked. The point, if I must explain it, is that I don't think Dick Cheney ever says anything through loss of self control. If he told Leahy to eff himself, you can be pretty confident that that is exactly what he wanted to say. |
