![]() "RichG" wrote in message m... Dan, I've never used the Locks up to the Chain. I don't know how wide they are and what sized boats they will accommodate. I have launched on the chain ( Grass Lake State park for one), and I know you can head up towards Wisconsin from there.. how far up, I don't know. Between the chain and the river itself ( and all of the nuts driving 50 mph on it ) I don't know how you could cover any more water than that without a week away. RichG p.s. I'm now on Lake Como near Lake Geneva, WI. during the summers. Cool, I have a friend who has a boat on Lake Como also, A Klaus. Anyway, I moved my boat down to a marina on the Fox because its close to my house. The river between Chain of lakes and Algonquin is very nice, and not too many boats on it. I would be curious to go south to Elgin on it, but would love to hear from someone who uses the southern locks. I know that the chain of lakes locks could take as long as 2 hours to get through... on a busy weekend... and i dont want to deal with that crap... |
