Will a lower end from a 1969 Johnson w/electric shift per model 40873
fit ont my motor, a 1969 Evinrude w/electric shift per model number 40973 ?

Also, for a 1969 40hp Evinrude there was a few model numbers:
40902
40903
40952
40952
40972
40973
How do I find out what the difference is between these models ?
It may help me when searching for parts, if I knew what the differences
were.

And lastly, I was told the 33hp and 40hp motors from that era were
identical, but simply rated differently. Is this true?
