Can penetrol be used as an alternative to sanding prior to painting with
interlux brightsides?

A solvent might do a good job of removing wax, oils, etc. Would it result in as
smooth a finish as you might like, if you completely overlooked sanding?

Be sure to use the Brightside primer, too.
