All I have to say is I know understand why Harry boats as many hours as he
does, that is one sweet boat.

Wait, Harry doesn't boat more than 2 days a year and that is on YOHO, that
is a bummer, no one should own a boat like this and never boat. I have to
be honest, this is head and shoulders over anything I even thought of
buying.

I am really jealous of Harry and his young Dr. Dr. wife.

They aren't all that impressive.

I don't want to be critical...but most of those pictures were too
dark.
JimH probably isn't allowed in that ritzy neighbourhood in the light

Yes, most turned out dark. I will have to practice a bit more with
this
camera. It was one of the first times I used it.

I certainly rate those homes as impressive. Most folks would too. But
I
guess Krause has demanding standards. After all, look at his custom
built
36 foot Zimmerman style lobster boat.

Oh, I forgot.............. no one has ever seen that boat. Hee-hee.

OK, I'll spill the beans and show a picture of Harry's 'sistership'.

That looks like a Zimmerman interior, very fancy and heavy, and a slightly
different hull from the same designer. Too bad you turned down that cruise
I offered you and your wife, dipstick.

Harry,
I have to agree that the pictures of the Zimmerman is a beaut. I am sure
all of us would love to see some interior pictures of your Lobster Boat.

Is that a Zimmerman?

Beautiful.
Zimmerman is one of the premier "finishers" of made-in-Maine lobster
yacht hulls. The boats are beautiful but all that "posh" on the interior
is heavy. Zimmerman's bulkhead-hull "joints" are uusual, in that the
bulkheads sort of float against the hull, or at least that was the
technique used when I toured the "factory" some years ago.

There's a company in Bristol, RI who makes one-off hull molds for
various manufacturers. A few years ago, they made a 45' sailboat that
had that same technique - it's an interesting concept.

The boat's still floating so I guess it's a good way to do it.

The hulls are quite stout. The wood bulkheads fit into slots glassed to
the inside of the hull, and there is "padding" between the edge of the
bulkhead and the hull. It prevents "print-through" of the wood bulkheads
against the glass hull. This isn't a problem with more traditional
fiberglass manufactured boats, which use glass bulkheads glassed to the
hull. The technique is pretty common on the Chesapeake, where there are
dozens of very small builders turning out some pretty nice boats.

As a point of comparison, the Zimmerman 36 is 4000 to 7000 pounds heavier
than boats with near identical hulls and caps not finished out as "posh,"
and that takes into account that Zimmerman doesn't install a honker-sized
diesel in its hulls.

But...they are gorgeous boats.

Nice try, crap for brains, but you're lying. I offered to take you fishing
on Yo Ho and and and your wife for a cruise on the bigger boat. You turned
me down. This was last season. But, what the hell, make up any crap you
like.
