Jones had claimed it (denim sinks fast). So I smartened up, and made a
point of wearing "work hats" when asea..... lost my favorite work hat the
same way. Arrrrgh.

Temporarily lost a pair of cheap sunglasses in shallow water, right in front
of our place. The next morning, at low tide, there was a large, mature
oyster standing there, wearing my glasses. All that was missing was the
smoke hanging out of the corner of his mouth. Thinking fast, I tip-toed up
behind him and snatched 'em back. Of course, he was speechless.

Nothing this season, bit, a few years back, my good wife dropped her diamond
tennis bracelet off the bow of the boat as she was untying the bow lines.
The bracelet got caught on the bow cleat and got ripped off of her wrist.
It slid off the bow and into the water. I watched it as it went down 12
feet to the bottom. Lucky for me the water is crystal clear and I just
went in for a swim and retrieved it for her. Had this happened in my home
port of Bayfield, it would have most likely been lost into the mud of the
harbor. In the port of Tobermory, the water is very clear.

Nothing for me this year as we just got back into it last month. ;-)
