I've got an aluminum Shore-Mate boat hoist that I bought used to store my
17' fishing boat. The gears are now slipping and the thing is not working at all. Has anyone replaced the manual winch on a small boat hoist? I saw a 2000lb rated manual winch for $30 on the web. It doesn't have a big wheel to wind it but it looks like it might work. Is there anything special about boat hoist winches? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. -- Dana Farrell Telecommunications Specialist ITCommunications Services University of Michigan |

I'm guessing you mean to lift your boat, not to pull it on a trailer. Some
of the cheaper automotive ones tend to be sort of liberal with their ratings. Read the fine print and make sure it's capable of lifting your boat. "Dana Farrell" wrote in message ...
