I've got an aluminum Shore-Mate boat hoist that I bought used to store my
17' fishing boat. The gears are now slipping and the thing is not working at all. Has anyone replaced the manual winch on a small boat hoist? I saw a 2000lb rated manual winch for $30 on the web. It doesn't have a big wheel to wind it but it looks like it might work. Is there anything special about boat hoist winches? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
