Since a couple of weeks my alternator light is flickering on (more ON
then OFF). It does seem to charge the batteries. I read somewhere that switching the ignition key off while the engine is running can cause this. (My 7 year old :-( did this). I have a 35HP 3 cylinder Volvo-Penta diesel MD17C. Is the alternator gone or perhaps the regulator? Anybody has experience with this? Thanks, Ronald. |

This is commonly caused by worn brushes making intermittant contact with
the slip rings. JR Dweller in the cellar RvdP wrote: Since a couple of weeks my alternator light is flickering on (more ON then OFF). It does seem to charge the batteries.
