Stuff happens

"I don't think anyone
anticipated the breach of the levees," he told Diane Sawyer.

Funny, I've never been to N.O., heck I grew up in New Mexico but I knew the
levees were at risk from at least two courses in college as I worked on a
'BIOLOGY' degree. Were we the only people that were in on this secret?

No!

I was reminded of this fact as a high school science teacher by at least two
different text books when I was teaching sections on water managment and
environmental risks. And I'm sure there are several hundred of my former
students that are at least aware of the concept accourding to the number of
them that passed the course with good grades!

I just thought he was an idiot before, now I know he is a danger to our
people and not just those overseas. Ignorance is not an excuse!

I wonder...if the levees had failed during Clinton's watch, would you be blaming
him as strenuously?

If I saw as many acts of stupidity and pure greed prior too... you bet!!!! I
don't give a flying 'F' about political party. He's just an idiot. Hell, man
W. traded Sammy Sosa!

Nobody takes Maureen Dowd seriously. Imagine saying that Cindy Sheehan
has unlimited moral authority, jeez, what an idiot.

If Clinton had
1- appointed a bunch of ideologues who sat on their butts when tens of
thousands of Americans needed their action
2- made a string of moronic statements
3- lied thru his teeth about "nobody thought the levees would break"
(also a candidate under #2 above)
4- stayed on vacation thru the first two days of a major crisis like this
5- passed the buck and started blaming others
6- presided over a campaign of lies, slanders, & smears to avoid
responsibility

then yes, I'd blame him just as strenuously.

That's what I meant, Doug. You know it all.

Is there anything on the above list that you think President Bush did
not do, or is truly not responsible for?

Geez John, don't you ever get tired of being a knee-jerk apologist for the
President? Clinton hasn't been President for 5 years, get over it.

Geez, thunder, don't you ever get tired of irrationally blaming *everything* on
the Bush administration? The levee problem has been known about for years and
years. The 'blame' should be getting spread the same way!

Before this incident, had you ever heard of the 'levee problem' in New Orleans?
I sure don't recall the governor or mayor making any big fuss, until after it
broke.

Here's an article that sheds some light on the levee problem, without the
Bush-hate you guys want to rejoice in. Should Bush have done more? Sure! As
should have Clinton and all the other presidents going back to about 1900.
