Wrong again, John. I haven't blamed Bush for the problems in New Orleans.
In fact, I have stated the majority of the problem was local, but that,
by no means absolves Bush from any blame. So, I'll ask you again, don't
you ever tire of being a knee-jerk apologist for the President?

Before this incident, had you ever heard of the 'levee problem' in New
Orleans? I sure don't recall the governor or mayor making any big fuss,
until after it broke.

Yeah, I've known about the levee problem for perhaps twenty years, but
then, I pay more attention than our President.

....or the one's before him.

Bush has done much for which he deserves just criticism. I've done some of that.
I'm not saying the federal government could not have handled some things better
in the current situation.

But, from day 1 Bush was being blamed for *everything*, with no blame going to
the locals. If Clinton were in power now, I would feel the same exact way. The
majority of the bull**** that has been directed towards the federal government
has been politically motivated. *That's* what is unjust.

Few people have any idea of the planning and activities that go into preparing
an active military unit for this type of action, one for which they've not
traIned. High praise is given to the Coast Guard and the Navy and Air Force
helicopter pilots, all of which are *federal* organizations.

Criticism, without the 'Bush-hate' is welcome, but that's not what has prompted
any of my responses.

Several administrations have cut funding for the levees, but only Bush was
ignorant enough to say " "I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of
the levees." As you know, New Orleans wasn't an if, but when.

Things could always be handled better, especially with hindsight. New
Orleans blew it, both in prevention and in pre-planning for a hurricane.

John, it goes with the job. If Bush isn't up to the task, he shouldn't of
ran for the job. I would point out he should have paid more attention
when is father was President. Bush I took a big hit during the '92
election for FEMA's slow response to Hurricane Andrew. Bush II, if he had
any sense, should have learned a lesson. Instead, he went fund raising.

If Clinton had
1- appointed a bunch of ideologues who sat on their butts when tens of
thousands of Americans needed their action
2- made a string of moronic statements
3- lied thru his teeth about "nobody thought the levees would break"
(also a candidate under #2 above)
4- stayed on vacation thru the first two days of a major crisis like this
5- passed the buck and started blaming others
6- presided over a campaign of lies, slanders, & smears to avoid
responsibility

then yes, I'd blame him just as strenuously.

That's what I meant, Doug. You know it all.

Is there anything on the above list that you think President Bush did not
do, or is truly not responsible for?

You really are an argumentative prick.

Possibly true, but why do you not list any facts to counter the above
listed Bush-Cheney (and Rove) actions)?

Instead, you're just calling names.
