Wonder how many Ted Kennedy will take into his compounds? Walk the walk, or
just talk?

It's either A or B, dummy, but not both.

Christmas goose?

A true "Christian" would open up his home and NOT take cheap shots at
Ted Kennedy.

You really are an ignorant ass, Herring.

Do the boys over at Tidal Fish know you travel around with a gasoline
siphon hose?

Why don't you go over there and post it, Harry. Maybe you'll find someone that
believes your crap.

Why wouldn't a true Christian tell the truth about Ted Kennedy? I'm sure Kennedy
could put up a few hundred families. Have you heard any offers from any of your
'friends' on the Hill"

Think Christmas, Harry. Think geese.

My wife is deeply involved with the Catholic Church. I work too much. She
managed and arranged everything. It was "her" idea and she took it upon
herself (marriage is a two way street, she gave me my permission). My role
is minor, just go to work so she can do what is morally right. We have been
married for over 35 years now. I "learned" over the years, she is always
right.

If you are not Catholic, there are several websites up now looking for
people like you.

May God Bless you for even thinking about it.

You are right in your knowledge that *she* is right. Whenever someone asks,
"What are you doing this weekend?", I always reply with, "Whatever my wife tells
me I'm doing!"

Whoops, forgot to finish the message before hitting the send button. Perhaps I'm
dense, but I couldn't find the sites to which you refer. If you've got any, I'd
appreciate it.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply, but as you might imagine, the
preparations for the "new part of our family" has kept us quite busy. We
are fortunate enough that a young African - American couple with 2 young
girls (7 and 9) are on their way north. We have done our best to make sure
their stay with us will be an expeience that will be good as we can make
it. But we realize for them, they have to leave their home city and it will
still be tough on them. We expect them to arrive this evening.

I thought I could easily find the website I had mentioned. I had caught a
brief part of an interview on TV with an "indirect" victim of 9/11. The
building in which he lived was destroyed and his first need was a roof over
his head. They posted the website he is hosting to find temporary homes for
the victims. It was an interview on Fox a few days ago. Sorry, I looked but
couldn't find it and time is short.

Spent a couple of minutes before my wife woke up this morning browsing
other threads and caught the SWMBO. How true. It has worked for me for over
35 years.

Might not have a chance to get back for a while. Things will be pretty busy
here.

May everyone stay safe, healthy, and well.

I've found sites where info can be put on the web with the idea that a needy
person will contact the provider by email. I don't trust it.

If your wife, or her church, knows of others, please email me at

Dear John,

We are just about ready to leave for the bus station. We worked through our
church. It is a bit of a process because backround checks are done on both
sides. That takes some time. My wife is very active in the church so she
was able to talk to the priest personally. I think he went out of his way
for us. My wife's cousin is a priest so that helps :)

We slept in today because we went to our nieces wedding yesterday and
didn't get back home until 2:30 this morning (out of town wedding, same
church where my wife and I were married). Though the wedding service was a
full Mass, and "counts" the same as going on Sunday, my wife still went to
Mass today at our "home" chuch. I "slacked" off.

See FEMA:

Reputable is:
http://tinyurl.com/8ydlf

Notice the screening process to ensure safety on both sides. Our first
screening was done through our church.

Good luck and God bless.

I'll be back in touch when the dust settles.

Regards,
SOB

Good luck to you also. Hope all goes well with you and the guests. I've a strong
feeling you'll get a lot of joy from what you're about to do.

It is late at night now. My daughter just came over to visit our new family
members when they awake. So far, better than expected. When the kid's
discovered the computer and internet, they were glued to the screen. Now I
need nannny filters.

The vetting process was tough. There was a 2 and a 1/2 year hole in my
military sevice because it was "classified". I guess I still am. I had to
go to confession and tell the priest what I was doing then. After over an
hour in the confessional booth, I was rewarded with a congratulations and
no penance.

What a wierd experience for a Catholic. Only the 2 of us in the the church,
we shook hands before we went into confession and I didn't say "Bless me
father, for I have sinned". We just talked.

I had to write because I am so happy my daughter came to meet our new
friends in the morning. BTW, not to brag, but on a scale of 1 to 10, she is
a 20. Must have been a good looking mailman :)

Take a little advantage of the situation, also. Get the mom to teach you (or
SWMBO) some Louisiana cooking. If I had a family with me, or get one, the first
thing the mom will be required to do is teach me how to cook red beans and rice,
the LA way.

The vetting process, or lack thereof, is why I won't sign up on one of the
internet sites I mentioned yesterday. We are getting closer to finding a source,
and I may just call the local Catholic Church.

Crap. In all this I forgot that we've got two couples from the Netherlands
coming in two weeks, and they'll be here for two weeks. Better wait.

How old are the kids with your guests?

You cannot find anywhere in New England or other places, good, solid,
stick to your ribs red beans and rice in the true Louisiana style.

While I have good and bad memories of New Orleans, red beans and rice
with real sausage is something that I truly miss.

They have some spice down there that gives a certain flavor I've not been able
to duplicate. They won't tell. None of the recipes I've tried taste like the
real thing.
