Default Boat papers lost

I'm about to get a boat off of a friend of mine who has misplaced the
paperwork for it. This boat is a sunray ski boat with an 80hp motor on it.
He has the paperwork for the trailer, but can't find it for the boat itself.

What are the steps (in Canada) to rectify this problem? I don't think the
ministry of transportation has anything to do with it, right?

Look for the number of Canada customs in the gov't of canada section of your
local phone book, they are the ones who handle the registration of pleasure
boats. Their web site is www.ccra.adrc.gc.ca

I think you're looking for the "13K" number (it's 13K here in Vancouver - yours
is probably different). It's the license number, and I believe Customs handles
it.

have to approach the process..
