Answered an ad in this morning's paper on a 14 ft "JON" boat for sale. Guy
said he still had it but had promised to hold it until a guy could drive in from about 75 miles away to look at it. I asked where it was and his answer "in my garage". No, I said, what town. Well it was only a mile from my home so I asked if I could at least look at it so I could be in line if the other guy didn't want it. He agreed so I drove over. It was actually what I would guess to be a late '40's Vee bottom row boat. Looked like it was made from an old WW II airplane wing. Kind of crude. I would have liked to be there to hear what the guy from 75 miles away (at $2.60 a gal. for gas) had to say when he saw it wasn't as advertised. Tom |
