Default What a day.. - 0730051917a.jpg (0/1)

Well, my friend and I took his Pearson P30 out and I didn't have a
problem the whole way. We went down the Bay from Bristol, RI, out the
East Passage without incident, out a ways into Block Island Sound,
then returned to the Bay up West Passage and returned to Bristol.

Made a few minor mistakes along the way, but all in all it was as
perfect as it could be after a long lay off from sailing. It helped
that my friend is also a licensed Master who does sail training all
the time - he's patient, but in this case he didn't need to be.

When I returned home, the wife's bi-weekly hen party (her turn to host
the canasta party this time) was rockin' and rollin', so I took the
Princecraft out to a local pond and hit a first - very nice 3/4 lb
crappie (pic attached) biggest one of those fish I've ever caught.

Spend the rest of the time trolling the pond, caught a few more
panfish and headed home. I'm currently locked up in my office waiting
for the wimmenz to get finished solving the world's problems while
playing cards.

So, it was a great day all 'round. Unfortunately, I have to paint the
hallway tomorrow - oh well, can't have everything.

Can't have everything?? What else is there thats better than a great
day on the water??

I had a similar day on Thur. I went to St. Clair to my friends place
on the River and we took his 26 ft. Formula up to BC#1 just north of
Pt. Huron. Along the way we passed a few 1000 ft. ore boats and saw
the new "Mighty Mac" (CG Cutter Mackinaw) tied up to a dock just
south of Pt. Huron. (No where as pretty as the Ole Mac, but very
functional, I'm sure) The city of St. Clair is hosting an off shore
power boat race Sunday, (today) and there were race boats of all
discriptions waiting to launch. I heard that over 50 boats in various
classes were entered. Wish I could get back to see that.

Happy boating, Norm
