Default Bad Boat Dealer - Pier 5 boats in Kansas

Just a heads up on a boat dealer that advertises on boat trader online.
Pier 5 boats out of South Hutchison Kansas.
Boat was advertised with 212 hours on it and after driving 500 miles to
pick it up it had 404 hours on it and after questioning Brad the
salesperson about it his response was "oh they must have left the
battery on" I'm like no I don't think it works that way..
the engine has to be running.
Also he said he would include a bimini top for it and while I was there
he pretended to measure for one and said he would ship it to me. Have
not heard from since - aprox 2 months. Once the sale is done so is the
customer service.
Will not answer emails or phone calls from me.
Dont want anyone else to get burned by them... stay away from them.

While I suspect you may be more right than he is, it is possible for
the battery to have counted up the hours on the motor - it DOES work
that way on some engines. Without specifics, can't say for sure.

No it doesn't.

It's is a matter of distance - the further you are away, the better
off you are.

Swear out a complaint at the local police department and see what
happens.

I am sure that it did have the 400 hours on it, thats just the way they
do business...once the sale is done it's all over. They still have
never returned my calls or emails or have I seen the bimini top that
they promised me. I just wanted to make everyone aware of them when
they are searching for a boat.
Chock it up to experience I guess.

later,

Oops I forgot to tell you the make and model of the boat, it is a 2002
Correct Craft with a GT-40 351 in it. If you can rack up the hours on
the digital guage on the tach without the engine running how do you do
that? It has to have the code punched in (no key)
to turn the main power on then when the engine is started the hour
meter starts.
