In a hope to get re-elected next year, he's made a very sharp turn to the right. SNIP Having been born and raised in West Virginia and with basically all my family still there, I can tell you that Byrd has NO concern regarding his re-election while he is still alive. If he dies before the next election there is a slight chance he won't be re-elected via write-in. If he dies before the election but after the ballots are printed he will still win. In WV they tend to elect Senators for life. As a Libertarian/Republican that disappoints me, but it is reality. So what you're saying is that deep down Byrd is a conservative? |
