Man dies in boating accident



LAKE VIEW, Iowa -- A 22-year-old man died Friday evening from injures he
suffered when he when was cut by a boat propeller, authorities said.

At about 8 p.m., Wesley Eugene Head, of Dow City, Iowa, was standing on the
back of a boat docked at a marina on Blawk Hawk Lake. When the boat shifted
into gear he lost his balance and the moving propeller cut his leg, the Iowa
Department of Natural Resources said.

He was initially transported to Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa. He was
then flown to a hospital in Sioux City where he died.


The man's identity wasn't immediately released. The incident remains under
investigation, the DNR said.
