71 johnson 100 HP Won't Idle

71 johnson 100 HP Won't Idle

Starts but usually dies after a few seconds.
I can open the carbs and runs OK.
Recent compression checked OK.
Spark plugs are clean.
Should I suspect carbs or possible ignition?
