![]() "CCred68046" wrote in message ... Does anyone have a MinnKota power drive trolling motor? Any problems with the steering servo motor? Is this better than the cable type steering setup? I have an MK 65ap. I like it a lot. does make more noise than the cable drive, and can wrap the cable around, but takes a couple of wraps to stress the cable. I run mine in auto pilot mode, when trolling lakes. Can lock the kicker straight and let the 65 AP correct the front of the boat to go the right (republican) direction. Easier on the bad knees than the older cable drive. That one (MK 40m) would turn if you took the foot off the pedal. This unit, I can take the control to the back of a 21' boat and steer from there. There are wireless control units also. Both MK supplies the Co-pilot and Sunny's Electric in Sacramento supplies one. Sunny's is better as you can control the AP remotely. Bill |
